Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking

The Mountain Bike Team is an integral part of our Outdoor Program, promoting adventure, fitness, and a lifelong love of cycling. We believe mountain biking provides an excellent source of daily exercise, offering both physical and mental benefits. Our campus, with over 10 miles of diverse trails, is the perfect setting to develop mountain biking skills for riders of all levels—from beginners to seasoned cyclists.

The team operates during both the fall and spring trimesters, with daily rides taking place on campus each afternoon. In addition to riding, team members participate in trail maintenance projects and attend events with other schools and organizations. We also host various biking events on campus that are open to the broader community.

A typical week might include exploring new trails, climbing to the top of the mountain to ring the bell, clearing trail sections to improve drainage, or tackling a longer climb on nearby gravel roads. Occasionally, we organize intrasquad races, giving riders the opportunity to challenge themselves with a longer ride. These races offer a taste of competitive mountain biking for those interested in racing.

At the heart of our program is the focus on ensuring every rider gets the right amount of exercise, has fun, and builds confidence on their bike.
